Sparrowhawk

This sparrowhawk interrupted our evening meal, perching on a vantage point from which it could survey the back garden which, until its arrival, had been busy with small birds.

It had the colourings of a female but was small. Since the females are usually larger than the males, I wondered if this was a juvenile female.
