Summer Lingers On

This photo of a glorious late autumn day was taken at the furthest point of my walk up through the estate plantations, through the area which was burned in a large fire which swept through them in July 2018. The temperature topped 12C yet it was still warm enough for....

....one of our red admirals to be out, feeding on the marigolds in the back garden. It looks a little tattered, which is how I would look if I'd been out in the two recent nights here when there was a hard ground frost.

I was even more surprised when I noticed a few flowers in the strawberry bed, but even more so when, at the south end of the bed, I found....

....an almost fully-formed strawberry.

November strawberries from the garden?  What next?
