....an almost totally black-and-white world. In fact, other than a couple of sunrises, some of the few bright colours we've seen have been....
....on some of the small birds.Conditions have been pretty tough for them - and on the humans too, because locals have been saying that this has been the biggest dump of snow they can remember in the last 25 years.
We've done as much as we can to support the birds, including putting out blocks of fat which the blackbirds, robins and dunnocks particularly enjoy, and by doing this we have, indirectly, supported....
....the local raptors - this is very likely to be the sparrowhawk we've seen on several occasions in our garden - though I'm sure the small birds would not take kindly to the idea.
