We took a path through Dunrobin Woods this morning which we haven't followed in some time and, to our great joy, found a new 'colony' of....
....scarlet elf cups. They weren't in the same numbers as at the original location - in a quick look we found nine as compared to well over fifty now visible at the old site - but I'll be going back when I have time to carry out a more thorough search.I do apologise to any readers who are finding my obsession with these fungi a bit.... strange.... but they are objects of considerable beauty and they're all in 'bloom' at a stage in the year when the woods are otherwise pretty empty of anything as interesting. That will change quickly as the spring flowers are appearing apace, with plenty of dandelions, daisies, primroses and celandine now in flower.
