Bird News

All yesterday's calling paid off for the swallow: in the late afternoon he - assuming it was a 'he' - was joined on the telegraph wire by another swallow and, after I'd taken a quick photo, I had the pleasure of listening to them chatter happily away to each other.

While out walking along the shore of Loch Fleet this morning we spotted a bird high above the western ridge of Beinn Bhraggie so we watched as it approached, the slightly floppy flight and fast wingbeat suggesting it was....

....an osprey.
