Loch Lunndaidh Walk 1

On Sunday for the first time in several months we walked up the track which leads from the village to one of the local lochans, Loch Lunndaidh, a walk which we enjoy because it takes us, if we're prepared to go far enough, into land which is still fairly wild and also because....

....it offers good views southwards towards Loch Fleet and the forestry around Littleferry.

The track was upgraded about eighteen months ago preparatory for the planting of regiments of trees, the vast majority conifers which, following the recent fierce weather....

....are now all bowing in the same direction. The track has also been washed away in several places, and the rain has caused....

....a landslip on a very bald rock slope of one of the nearby hills.

The lochan is one of the village's sources of water but, sadly, by the time it comes out of our taps....

....it has lost its lovely whisky colour.

Before they built the new water treatment plant for the Kilchoan supply, it used to come out this colour and didn't taste and smell of chlorine.
