This was the view across the A9 and down Duke Street at seven last night with a hard frost in progress under clear skies and a just-past-full moon rising above the street lamps. Morning revealed....
....an overnight low of -5.9C in our back garden, nothing compared to Altnahara in the Highlands where the minimum was -14.6C.Conditions for our daily walk were good, the snow still powdery, not too much of it trodden to ice; in fact the biggest problem was the sun which was piercingly bright on the open snow so we made our way home through shaded woodland where........the remaining snowdrops were difficult to find against a white blanket. However, in this very wintery landscape we did find one of the next signs of spring........a single lesser celandine in flower.
