A Mist Morning

There's not been a breath of wind today yet the mist which has been around since dawn this morning seems to find its own way of moving, at times settling across the land and at others lifting to allow moments of weak sunshine.

We parked the car along the Littleferry road and walked through Ferry Wood whose trees dripped condensation. This is Loch Unes where, in summer, we watched dragonflies but today....

....it was the fungi which were the centre of interest.

We followed a path which leads to a gap in the fence which separates the wood from the open links, a path well used by humans and by....

....the local wildlife. This was sitting in the middle of the path and was very fresh, perhaps left by a passing pine marten.

As we walked along a low-tide beach towards Littleferry the mist continued to come and go, lifting enough at one point to reveal....

....two sanderlings walking towards us, which were joined by two others, the four stopping their search for a meal long enough....

....to watch us pass.
