Having become quite excited on Friday when, at Littleferry, we found one new spring flower in bloom - wild pansy - when we walked north yesterday morning we found, along the path that runs below Dunrobin Castle, no less than eight 'new' flowers, including....
....one of the buttercups, perhaps creeping buttercup....
....bird's foot trefoil....
....cuckoo flower, or lady's smock....
....what may be one of the bedstraws, with at least four insects enjoying its flowers....
....one of the clovers....
....campion....
....and lesser stitchwort.
After a desperately slow spring it's a joy to find the wildflowers beginning to catch up.
