Elizabeth probably enjoyed her time in Jamaica more than any of the rest of us.
From the time we moved in to No 1 Excelsior School Cottages - she's shown in this picture early in our time in Jamaica, in front of No 1, on her new tricycle - she had a constant supply of friends: some, like Mark, Christian and Luke, were her age, some, like Keith's three children in No 2, were older.
She was also totally at ease with adults, and would go off quite happily to sleep at other people's houses, or travel up into the hills with the Cantons and Morrises, or go off for a few days with....
....Christian to Negril or Ocho Rios (picture by Rick Canton), without turning a hair. Sometimes we didn't know where she was.
Nor did she find any difficulty in settling in to the new household regime when Katy arrived. She was very good with her but certainly didn't allow the disruption a small baby created to come in the way of her social life.
She had a very close and affectionate relationship with Blossom who would often collect her from school and look after her if we weren't around. This picture was taken shortly after Katy was born: Elizabeth was given the doll on Katy's arrival so she, too, had a baby, and the pretty dress was one brought out by Bea when she visited in March 1974.
This is Elizabeth at Long Bay in July 1974 in a picture which illustrates how healthy she always seemed, having few and generally minor ailments from which she recovered quickly.
Here are the three girls in their party finery in February 1975 ready to celebrate Elizabeth's....
....fourth birthday. The celebratory meal took place under the mango trees in our back garden surrounded by her friends. By this time....
....she was a very confident young lady. This picture was taken high in the hills at the back of Kingston, at a point called Governor's Bench, from which there were fine views down to Kingston and the south coast.
