We saw the dipper again on Tuesday, working its way upriver from where we first saw it, from the footbridge across the Golspie Burn - see earlier post here. We've seen it once in the interim, much further upstream, but only fleetingly.
It was working very hard at finding a meal, at times with its head below water, at times........swimming on and even under the surface. It's a busy bird but also........a bit of a Houdini character: one minute we were watching it, the next it had disappeared.Other passers-by noticed our interest, one commenting that he had also seen it recently, another asking what I had been photographing.
That it's been seen by others is good news, as it suggests that it is becoming resident here so we'll have the continuing pleasure of watching its activities.
