On a rather damp walk up past the rabbit field this morning I noticed several swallows, obviously....
....young ones, sitting on the fence or on the bars of the galvanised iron gate looking around....
....hopefully, and then begging madly for food, delivered by....
....a couple of very harassed-looking adults.
We've been seeing small numbers of swallows recently and assumed that these were ones heading south from the Orkneys and Shetlands and passing through Golspie but would have expected that, by this time, any young ones would have been independent.
This doesn't bode well for this little family.
