Places from the Past

Places from the past keep coming to mind, at odd moments, unexpectedly, and then one continues to think about them; for example remembering how, at this remote Rockies ranch, almost as soon as we arrived, so did....

....a tiny humming bird, as if anxious to greet us, a bird which was just the start of the joyous wildlife we found as....

....we explored the area and hiked down to the river. It was June but, while the snow was still in the mountains, the valley flowers were out in profusion, flowers the like of which....

....we had never seen before, and so fresh, so vibrant; and, to keep me happy, there were....

....orchids - this a slipper orchid - and....

....dragonflies and damselflies in the ponds left by the meandering of the river.

It's unlikely that I will ever see this corner of British Columbia again but I thank it for the rich memories it gave me to enjoy over the years since.
