The oystercatchers either come in anxious pairs, constantly calling, agitated when we approach too close, or in....
....small, sociable groups feeding along the tideline, the ones who have failed to nest, have lost their nest, or are too young to try this year. Hiding amongst the latter is the same....
....little dunlin we saw the other day, lonely, lost-looking, and left behind when the oystercatchers take flight. As we tread the path above the shore we have to look where we step, for the cold and the searching wind have caused the small bees to crash out of the air to lie bunched up and helpless amidst the vegetation, while........on Dunrobin Castle's exit road the tourists are busy, hurrying from one honeypot site to the other not seeing........the jewels that lie scattered in the grass.
