Aurora

Last night we watched what was probably the best aurora we've seen since moving to the north. It wasn't particularly strong, though....

....there were moments when it became quite active. Photographing it was limited by the neighbour's PIR lights, which kept coming on just as I was taking a picture, but it was good, at my age, not to have to be outside where the temperature was 1C - these pictures were taken from the relative comfort of the spare bedroom.

The sun is becoming increasingly active so we're seeing quite a few of these low-level auroras but, with a bit of luck, they should increase as we move towards the maximum of the sunspot cycle.
