It's October, the midday temperature is struggling to reach 14C, yet a small tortoiseshell along with....
....a peacock and a........red admiral, all in superb condition, are still arriving most days to feed on the fading flowers of our six stands of michaelmas daisies.The butterflies don't fly away even when I approach close. It's almost as if they're slightly drunk on the nectar.
